What
I play recreational badminton, mainly double. I am quite good but I don't do any training. I smash well, quite okay in defence and in netting. So something like C level.
What to choose
Rackets are nowadays are available in may types. What you need to choose:
- head heavy vs. light (heavy for smasher)
- weight 1U-6U (6U is extreme light, lighter for defense player)
- stiff vs. less stiff (stiff is good for smahsing)
Brands
Yonex is the authority, but their top model is often expensive. For allround you can choose Arc Saber. FD version is made in Taiwan, and cheaper than FB version. But FB version is too light and so difficult to smash. Other brands are a lot nowadays: Charlton, Victor, Forza, Li Ning, etc.
My choice
Victor hypernano X. It belongs to high end rackets of Victor. Very good in netting and pushing shuttles to the back court. Smashing was okay but not as good as head heavy racket. May be you just need to get used to.
